Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 25 October 2026

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of mortgageeasy.co (the "Site") and any enquiry you submit through it. The Site is operated by Mortgage Easy ("Mortgage Easy", "we", "us", "our").

By ticking the box and submitting an enquiry, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy, and you give the consents in section 6. If you do not agree, do not submit an enquiry. Using the Site without submitting an enquiry also means you accept these Terms.

1. Who we are and what we do

Mortgage Easy is a marketing and introduction service. We advertise home loan information, collect enquiries from people who want to speak to a mortgage adviser, verify their contact details, and introduce those enquiries to licensed New Zealand mortgage advisers.

We are not a registered bank, non-bank lender, non-bank deposit taker or Financial Advice Provider. We do not lend money, arrange loans, assess applications or give financial advice.

2. No financial advice

Nothing on the Site, in our advertising or in any message from us is financial advice, a recommendation or an offer of credit. All content on the Site — including indicative interest rates, cashback amounts, savings estimates and any message about whether you may be able to refinance, borrow or save — is general information only. It does not take your personal circumstances into account and may not reflect current market conditions.

Any "eligibility", "you may qualify" or similar message shown on the Site is an automated, general statement generated only from the answers you have entered. It is not an assessment of your situation, not a pre-approval and not a recommendation to take any action.

You must obtain personalised advice from a licensed Financial Advice Provider before making any decision about a mortgage.

3. How introductions work

Who we introduce you to. When you submit an enquiry, we share it with one or more licensed mortgage advisers. Each adviser is registered on the Financial Service Provider Register and operates under a Financial Advice Provider licensed by the Financial Markets Authority. The adviser will contact you, give you their disclosure information (including their FSP number and how they are paid) and, if you choose to proceed, act as your adviser.

We are paid for introductions. Advisers, or the businesses they work for, pay us a fee for each enquiry we introduce. You pay us nothing. The adviser's duties under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 are owed to you, not to us.

A related business. Some of the advisers we introduce you to may work for a business that is related to Mortgage Easy. If so, that adviser's own disclosure explains how they are paid and how conflicts of interest are managed.

Your relationship is with the adviser. Once an adviser engages with you, your relationship is with that adviser. We are not a party to, and are not responsible for, the advice or services they provide.

No guarantees. We do not guarantee that an adviser will contact you, that any adviser will accept you as a client, or that any lender will approve a loan, offer a particular rate or pay cashback.

4. Eligibility to use the Site

To submit an enquiry you must:

  • be at least 18 years old;
  • be a New Zealand citizen or resident;
  • provide accurate, complete and current information; and
  • submit only your own details, or details you are authorised to submit.

Submitting an enquiry is not a loan application. We do not run credit checks, and submitting an enquiry does not affect your credit score.

5. Figures, estimates, cashback and activity notifications

Indicative figures. Any savings, repayment reductions, interest rates or cashback amounts shown on the Site (including in hero copy, calculators, testimonials and notifications) are illustrative examples, estimates or historical figures. Actual outcomes depend on your loan size, lender policy, credit assessment, property valuation, fixed-term arrangements and market conditions at the time, and may be materially different or unavailable to you.

Cashback. Cashback offers are made by lenders, not by us. Amounts vary and are subject to the lender's terms, which usually require repayment ("clawback") of the cashback if you repay or refinance the loan within a set period, typically three to four years.

Activity notifications. The Site may show notifications such as "someone in Hamilton just submitted an enquiry". These are generated from genuine enquiries submitted through the Site, with names and identifying details removed or replaced, and may be delayed. They show general activity on the Site; they do not indicate any outcome for you.

Testimonials. Testimonials on the Site are from real people who used the Site or an adviser we introduced them to, published with their permission. Their experience is their own and is not a prediction of your outcome.

6. Consent to contact

By ticking the box and submitting an enquiry, you consent to being contacted about your enquiry by phone, SMS and email by:

  • Mortgage Easy;
  • any company related to Mortgage Easy; and
  • the licensed adviser(s) we introduce your enquiry to.

This includes a one-time SMS verification code sent to the number you provide, and follow-up messages if we or an adviser cannot reach you.

Calls may be recorded for verification, training and quality purposes.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by replying STOP to any marketing SMS or using the unsubscribe link in any email. Withdrawing consent with us does not withdraw it from an adviser you are already dealing with; tell that adviser directly.

7. Your information

We collect the details you enter on the Site (such as your name, phone number, email address and the answers you give about your property, loan and situation), together with technical information about your visit.

We use this information to verify your enquiry, match it to an adviser, introduce you, follow up, and improve the Site and our advertising. We share it with the adviser(s) we introduce you to, our related companies, and the service providers that run our Site, SMS verification, data storage and advertising measurement. Some of these providers store or process information outside New Zealand.

You can ask to access or correct your information at any time. Full details, including how long we keep information and how to complain, are in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of any New Zealand law;
  • submit false or misleading information, or another person's details without their authority;
  • interfere with, attempt to gain unauthorised access to, or disrupt the Site; or
  • scrape, copy, reproduce or republish content from the Site without our written consent.

9. Intellectual property

All content on the Site (including text, design, graphics, and the Mortgage Easy name and logo) is owned by or licensed to Mortgage Easy and protected by New Zealand and international intellectual property law. You may view and print pages for your personal, non-commercial use only.

10. Third-party brands

The Site may refer to third-party brands, including New Zealand banks and lenders, to describe products available in the market. Those brands and trademarks belong to their owners. References do not mean those parties endorse, sponsor or are affiliated with Mortgage Easy.

This Site is not part of Facebook, Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc. and is not endorsed by Meta in any way. FACEBOOK and INSTAGRAM are trademarks of Meta Platforms, Inc.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Site is provided "as is". We do not warrant that the Site or the information on it is accurate, complete, current or available at all times.

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • we exclude all implied warranties, conditions and guarantees;
  • we are not liable for any loss, damage or cost (including indirect, consequential or economic loss) arising from your use of the Site, from reliance on information on it, or from the advice or services of any adviser we introduce you to; and
  • our total liability to you in connection with the Site or these Terms is limited to NZD $100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, the Fair Trading Act 1986 or any other law that cannot be excluded. If you use the Site for the purposes of a business, you agree that the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 does not apply.

12. Complaints

If you have a complaint about the Site or our marketing, contact us using the details in our Privacy Policy. We will acknowledge it within two business days and aim to resolve it within ten business days.

Complaints about advice or services should go to the adviser concerned. If the adviser does not resolve it, you can take it to their independent dispute resolution scheme, which is free to use. The adviser's disclosure information tells you which scheme they belong to.

13. General

Changes. We may update these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date shows when they last changed. The version you accepted when you submitted your enquiry applies to that enquiry; continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Severability. If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

Governing law. These Terms are governed by New Zealand law, and you and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
